Sensible
Consulting began in January 2004 with Brent
White, our President. Brent opened his
career in healthcare as a part of the audit
staff with Ernst & Whinney before moving to
HCA. Since then, Brent has held progressive
managerial roles with Hospital Corporation
of America, Health Management Associates,
TENET Healthcare, Community Health Systems,
and MedCath. During his 22 years of
experience, Brent has served in all
capacities represented in hospital financial
and operational administration.
He is astute, innovative,
and well organized with a facilitative,
team-building, results-oriented management
style. Brent possesses strong analytical
skills, and excellent critical thinking and
problem solving skills. Clients often
request Brent due to his
extensive background in health care with
emphasis on the management of staff and
operations as well as, resource management,
staffing, information handling, and process

leadership as:
Turnaround
Specialist
Specialized in integrating new hospital
acquisitions into the corporate structure
for one of the nations premiere investor
owned hospital corporations. Includes
coordinating the conversion of Information
Systems, and intergration of corporate
policy and procedure. Brent has performed as
the leader of the acquisition team in 5
turnarounds for SEC Reporting client,
including winning awards for Best
Acquisition Hospital, and Most Improved
Financial Performance Award for a $5.5M
turnaround in an 82 bed hospital in the
Southeast. In addition, he was part of a
team that increased EBITDA by 45%, Surgery
Volume 70%, Admissions 23% and ER visits 15%
in a one year turnaround of a 100 bed
hospital in the South.
Revenue Cycle Restructuring:
Brent was
responsible for Revenue Cycle Operations for
a 13 Hospital Chain, including Business
Office, HIM, and Chargemaster, as well as
communications with hospital CFO's on
operational improvements. He
reduced Net A/R days from
72 to 46 and Gross A/R days from 58 to
35, collected 103% of net
revenue in Cash while holding Cost of
Collection to >80% of HARA averages,
increased Inpatient
Coding Accuracy from 86% to 95%, instituted Outpatient
Coding Education Program, coordinating
use of outside consultants and staff. He
also instituted quarterly
chargemaster reviews and annual on-site
revenue recognition audits, reducing
outpatient denials by 25%.
Compliance:
Served in dual role as
facility CFO and facility compliance officer
for three publicly traded hospital
corporations over a period of 10 years.
Award winner for execution of his facility
compliance plan in 2001, out of 54
hospitals. Also responsible for coordinating
compliance reviews with the System
Compliance Officer for a 174 bed not for
profit hospital in a metropolitan area in
the South.
Transition Manager:
In his consulting career,
Brent has served as Interim CEO, Interim
COO, Interim CFO, Interim Controller, Budget
Analyst, Revenue Cycle Consultant and Sales
